Overview

Providing water is one of the most rewarding and ongoing acts of charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad SWT said, “The best form of charity is giving someone water to drink.”. Water is a basic human necessity, and offering it to others—especially the poor, travelers, and those in need—is a highly virtuous deed that continues to earn rewards even after one’s death.

Through our following water-focused projects, we strive to fulfill this noble Islamic value by ensuring access to clean, safe drinking water for all.

1. Electric Water Coolers Installation at Public Places
2. Hand Pumps Installation in Needy Houses and Communities
3. Plastic Water Coolers Distribution in Local Markets

1) Electrical Water Coolers Installation at Public Places:

Every summer, TARS Foundation installs electric water coolers equipped with water filters at various public places such as mosques, madrassas, hospitals, orphanages, schools, markets, and footpaths of Peshawar and surrounding areas. The aim is to ensure the availability of clean and cold drinking water for the general public during the intense heat of summer.

TARS Foundation not only installs these electric water coolers but also takes full responsibility for their regular cleaning, maintenance, and repair when needed.

Alhamdulillah, with the generous support of our donors, we have so far successfully installed over 80 electric water coolers, benefitting thousands of people year-round.

2) Hand Pumps Installation in Needy Houses and Communities:

Among the many charitable initiatives of TARS Foundation is the installation of hand pumps in needy houses and vulnerable communities and villages near Peshawar - particularly in those remote areas where access to piped water is limited or non-existent.

With the generous support of our valued donors, TARS Foundation has, Alhamdulillah, installed a significant number of hand pumps in such areas, benefiting thousands of people with reliable access to clean and safe drinking water, as well as water for daily household use.

3) Plastic Water Coolers Distribution in Local Markets

With the arrival of summer each year, TARS Foundation distributes plastic water coolers free of cost to shopkeepers in various marketplaces across Peshawar. The purpose is to provide relief to passersby who, in the scorching heat, can quench their thirst with clean and cold drinking water placed outside these shops.

These coolers are placed in front of shops and filled daily with water and ice by the shopkeepers themselves, allowing passersby to drink clean, cold water on hot days.

So far, over 400 plastic water coolers have been distributed by TARS Foundation, providing free, easily accessible drinking water to thousands of people daily.
